About Felt Natural Argentina

Hi, I´m from Yorkshire in the north of England but have been living in Buenos Aires for some years now with my Argentine husband. I am an English teacher and have a post graduate certificate in Education from the University of Surrey, UK. Here in Buenos Aires I have taught English for more than 20 years. 

Over recent years I have dedicated more of my time to knitting, weaving and felting, than to teaching English. In the past my knitwear was sold in shops in Buenos Aires but nowadays it is sold on the internet.  An aunt taught me to knit when I was 9 and for many years I knitted my own sweaters during the long cold winters in the north of England. Here in Buenos Aires I have also studied knitting with  Cristina Gugglieri to impove my skills. 

About ten years ago a friend introduced me to weaving and for many years I studied with Liliana Rosendorn weaving on a 4 shaft loom.

 In 2008/09 I was introduced to the art of felting and became a fanatic when I was introduced to Nuno felting. Felting allows you to touch and manipulate the fibers, it allows you to paint with them and design beautiful and delicate wearable pieces of art. I have had the pleasure of studying different felting techniques with renowned international felters such as Celia Mikkelsen, Andrea Graham, Rutsuko  Sakato and recently travelled to the USA to study with Charity Van Der Meer, an international designer as well as felter and to the UK to study with Liz Clay. 
I had the opportunity in 2011 to participate in Puro Diseño, exhibiting felted wraps and shawls, vests and jackets.

 My studio is in Florida in the northern province of Buenos Aires and classes are given in English/Spanish.

Naci en el norte de Inglaterra pero hace unos cuantos años vivo con mi marido en Buenos Aires. Soy porfesora de Ingles con un postgrado en Educacion de la Universidad de Surrey, Reino Unido. Ya en Buenos Aires me dedique a la enseñanza del idioma Ingles durante mas de 20 años.

Desde hace ya varios años he dedicado gran parte de mi tiempo a lo que en principio comenzo como un hobby que empezo cuando apenas tenia 9. Una tia me enseño a tejer a dos agujas y durante muchos años teji mis propios sweaters durante los largos inviernos en el norte de Inglaterra. Aqui he estudiado tejido con Cristina Gugglieri,  y durante algunos años mis tejidos se vendieron en locales de Buenos Aires. Actualmente se venden en internet.

Hace alrededor de 10 años estudio telar con Liliana Rosendorn y vendo estos tejidos hechos en mi telar de 4 cuadros.  En el 2008/09 me interese por la tecnica de fieltro nuno. Me gusta mucho porque con el fieltro se pueden tocar y manipular las fibras, pintando con ellas y diseñando delicadas y hermosas piezas de arte. Durante el año 2011 expuse mis prendas y diseños en la Feria de Moda Puro Diseño en la Sociedad Rural de Bs. As. Participe de muchos talleres, compre y lei muchos libros y practique distintas tecnicas relacionadas con el fieltro. Tuve el placer de estudiar tecnicas de fieltro con diseñadoras reconocidas internacionalmente Celia Mikkelsen, Andrea Graham, Rutsuko Sakato y durante un viaje que realice recientemente a los Estados Unidos de Norteamerica a estudiar y desarrollar distintas tecnicas de fieltro con la tambien renombrada diseñadora Charity Van Der ambien he particpado en talleres de fieltro con Liz Clay en el UK.
 En este momento mis prendas de fieltro tambien pueden encontrarse en internet.  
Trabajo  y doy clases de fieltro en mi taller en la zona norte. Los talleres se dictan en idioma castellano y/o ingles en la localidad de Florida Mitre, Ptdo. de Vte. Lopez en la zona norte del Gran Buenos Aires.
